I read Cheryl’s Strayed’s Tiny Beautiful Things, almost a year and a half ago.  Nothing in my life was wrong exactly. Externally everything looked good –  work was going well, I had a great boyfriend, I was getting along with my family better than ever… Internally, though I just felt stuck, stifled, stagnant and couldn’t totally shake it. A friend mentioned,  Tiny Beautiful Things: Advice on Love And Life From Dear Sugar, I picked it up and frankly couldn’t put it down and Cheryl Stayed is now one of my personal heroes.

The book is comprised of a selection of letters written to Strayed’s Dear Sugar column. I’ve usually preferred to sink into a novel and have tended to lose focus with the self help, but the raw honesty and brutal truth with which Cheryl Strayed writes lasered through me at the perfect time. She shares her unique wisdom without being preachy and manages depths of empathy without being sappy. Her writing inspires permission to be fearless, to break through to the core of yourself and accept and trust your best way forward…

This is my favorite gift to give and I was inspired to write this today as one of my best friends called to say she had shared this book with a group of her friends and were all moved by it for different reasons…

It’s powerful, it’s soulful, it’s real….Thank you Cheryl Strayed!
