We definitely appreciate the abundance Summer brings! For us it is a time of indulging – a little too much wine, more sweet treats,and snack bar favorites. Our way of keeping it balanced is getting the greens in early! Start your day with one of our two favorites smoothies…AND enjoy that evening glass (or two!) guilt-free.

 

Option #1: Cleansing, Hydrating & Immunity Boosting

-1 to 2 cups of coconut water (depending on desired concentration)

-2 cups or two large handfuls of raw greens (arugula, kale, romaine, spinach, chard)

-Pineapple (several chunks)

-Handful or blueberries or about 5 strawberries

-1/4 of lemon wedge squeezed

-Raw ginger (use a potato peeler and shave in several slices)

-Mint (5 -7 leaves)

-1/2 cup of parsley

-1/2 cup of cilantro

-Chia seeds (I tablespoon)

-Chlorophyll (I dropper full)

*If you are wanting a colder more frozen version, use some frozen kale, collards greens or berries.   Also switch out fruits depending what is in season and fresh. Green apple, pear, nectarines, raspberries, and blackberries are other good options. Use the fruits you like and switch it up!

 

Option #2: Protein, Vitamins & Good Fats

-1 frozen banana

-1 to 2 cups of nut milk (Almond, cashew, hemp, coconut – whatever you like – I usually like the unsweetened vanilla options best)

-1 tablespoon of cashew butter (or almond, peanut, etc.)

-Mint (5 – 7 good mint leaves)

-1 to two big handfuls of spinach or other raw greens

-1/2 cup parsley

-1/2 cup cilantro

-Chia seeds (1 tablespoon)

-Chlorophyll

*Optional – add a spoonful of maca powder to add a little bounce to your step (it’s also supposed to boost your endurance and sex drive….added bonus!)
